Critter Notices
Expanding Critters - Feedback Wanted
I've long planned to offer workshopping in more genres, both writing and in other creative areas. But there are lots of options how to do that... so I'd appreciate your thoughts. Please share your thoughts here, so I can keep them in one place. Thanks!
Notices Layout
So, lookie, I've moved the notices over here because of popular demand. Hope you like. Don't forget to look at them though!
Free Ads for Your Stuff
Many Critterfolk have asked if they could advertise their books, stories, etc. on Critters. I know how important it is to get the word out — and how hard that is — so I decided heck, let's try it as a benefit of active membership. Read more...

Critters Autopilot / Multi-week Batch Mode...
If you see a notice that Critters is on Autopilot, that means the Critter Captain is not available and/or we're in the middle of a multi-week batch of manuscripts. This happens over many holidays when a lot of people travel and critiquing is at a lower pace than usual (and/or when the ol' Cap'n' is just out of town). Critters is about 99% automated, but the Cap'n monitors some of the software as it runs so those processes get held.
During multi-week batches you should still do one critique per week; there will be more manuscripts posted than for a normal week so there are more to choose from. If you're a new member, no new manuscripts will be emailed so choose manuscripts to critique from the online queue.
Multi-week batches also mean different rules are in effect for the MPC award.
When in autopilot...
- Critiques are processed as normal, so send them in (early and often)
- New manuscripts submitted to the queue are not added (but are stored and will be added in order received when autopilot is switched off)
- The Critter Captain is quite possibly unable to answer emails, but send them and he'll get to them when he returns
